Is there any U.S. city that captures the magic of music like Nashville, Tennessee? One of the birthplaces of country music, the home of the Grand Ole Opry, the legendary metropolis isn’t nicknamed “The Music City” for nothing.

Finding yourself lost in Nashville with nothing to do? And more importantly, nowhere to sing? We’ve got you covered. Here are 5 of the best karaoke bars and rooms in Nashville.

The top Nashville karaoke bars and rooms

1. Ms. Kelli’s Karaoke Bar

This family owned and operated venue on the iconic Printers Alley in downtown Nashville is the stuff of legends. Featuring an extensive and impressive bar (despite its cozy, dive-like atmosphere) that includes expertly crafted cocktails, Ms. Kelli’s is somewhat of a local institution, having hosted staged karaoke for years. A singular stage and a dedicated KJ keeps the evening moving along smoothly, with no cover charge and reasonably priced singalong sessions on offer every day of the week, until 3am (the place is strictly 21+).

All in all, an extensive song list, yummy pub fare and ample space for dancing awaits visitors to Ms. Kelli’s. A must-see for sure.

2. Kung Fu Saloon

Upon checking out the website of Kung Fu Saloon, an all-round entertainment mecca in Nashville’s Music Row. Viewers are encouraged to “rock the mic like a vandal” by booking one of two private karaoke rooms. This, for context, is the type of vibe to expect when making your way through the saloon doors: no-holds-barred fun in a welcoming environment. By the way, while reservations are encouraged, walk-ins are more than welcome to have at it. Killer karaoke options aside, Kung Fu has got an incredible food menu (Cap’n Crunch Fried Pickles!), cocktails, shots and sake bombs, plus plenty of throwback décor and vintage arcade games to sample.

Open every day of the week until 3am (the kitchen consistently wraps up at 10pm), Kung Fu Saloon is a 21+ venue with no cover charge.

3. WannaB’s Karaoke Bar

Two bars, one great time. That’s the promise at Tequila Cowboy Bar & Grill which is another Nashville staple serving up country-fried everything and excellent tunes. And for karaoke? Head next door to WannaB’s for cold drinks and a spotlight on Broadway (it’s the only karaoke venue on the famed strip). With its wood-paneled décor and a bar festooned with fake palm trees and made from vintage oil barrels, the mood is undeniably honky-tonk, and the solemn karaoke stage at the back offers a great vantage point for belting out country hits from this year and yesteryear.

Open from 12:00 pm Thursday to Sunday, this double-your-fun venue is perfect for people watching, great eats, frosty beers and everything in between.

4. The Golden Door

Billed as Nashville’s first-ever party club, The Golden Door social house is a bouncy, raucous dress-to-impress venue for schmoozing, dancing, and, of course, karaoke. Featuring a solid sound system and mainstage, the music is always A+, and the cocktail list––even better.

The vibe is often super-high energy with a see-and-be-seen type of crowd (which is perfect if that’s your thing), but level set expectations if you’re hoping for a private room for you and your friends.

5. Fran’s

A real dive bar if ever there was one, Fran’s (frequently cited as one of the best watering holes in the city, even Nicole Kidman is a fan) sits on the east side and features a relaxed atmosphere with ample cat décor and an open stage for live performances, poetry slams, and killer karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights.

Missing many of the bells and whistles that pop up on some of the venues above, Fran’s is simply a bar’s bar: no curated cocktail menu (although the awesome bar staff can whip something up for you) and no private booths, but the vibe is always right for those looking to unwind and take in the sounds of Nashville’s gritty, undiscovered vocal superstars.
